Julie Burch

Julie Burch

My yoga philosophy is rooted in the belief that the practice is a journey of exploration rather than perfection. I encourage students to slow down, tune into their own bodies, and honor where they are in each moment. Over time, this mindful approach allows them to gently build strength, expand their practice, and try new things with curiosity and openness. I love to create space for playfulness and joy, offering challenges that inspire growth while keeping the practice accessible and supportive for all levels. My goal is to empower students to trust themselves, explore their edges, and find both strength and ease on the mat.

Julie Cloar

Born and raised in Memphis, Julie has been a Vinyasa teacher for 13 years. A former preschool teacher and graduate of The University of Memphis, she pursued a BA in Education and taught preschool for 12 years while her 4 children were growing up. Her yoga journey started after the birth of twins in 2000. She discovered arthritis in her back and was advised to start yoga. From that point on, she has been a faithful yoga student. She fell in love with the physical, mental, and spiritual discipline that is yoga. She completed her 200 RYT from Midtown yoga in 2010 and Kundalini training at Delta Groove in 2025. She rented space on Overton Park in Midtown Memphis, and taught yoga there for 9 years. The covid pandemic in 2019 led her into teaching her students virtually, which she continues to do 3 times a week from her home. She also offers and teaches private sessions upon request. Julie loves spending time outdoors, gardening with her 2 dogs. She is a lover of knitting, bowling, and yoga.

Arielle is a Level 3 Breath worker, a Reiki Master, a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher, a sound healing facilitator, as well as a meditation teacher. She also provides a safe space for those that are brain injured with LOVE YOUR BRAIN. Arielle found herself at the doorstep of Delta Groove Yoga to try out Kundalini yoga. Though she had never taken a yoga class before, she immediately registered for Kundalini Training. Once here she found herself immersed in many other helpful tools, such as Reiki, Meditation, and Sound Healing. On a journey of release and healing, Arielle soon found out about the ancient art of Breathwork from Mackenzie Smith who learned it from her teacher David Elliot. This has brought her peace in many aspects of her life as a Mom, full time student, and Healer. Breathwork is life changing! It allows you to tap into the essence of you and release what you can no longer hold onto to help bring a better life balance.

Maria Fuhrmann

Maria Fuhrman

SHORT BIO: Maria began practicing hatha yoga in the early 2000s and found it to be a path to greater peace and better health. She was always content to be a student and practitioner until discovering kundalini yoga at Delta Groove around 2022. As her dedication to the practice of kundalini yoga grew, Maria took the plunge and completed Delta Groove Kundalini Yoga Training in 2025. Maria is excited to share the beauty and power of kundalini yoga as she deepens her own knowledge and practice. LONGER "WHY" STATEMENT: I came to kundalini yoga after practicing yoga consistently for over 20 years. I had taken little bites in classes here and there, but the first full kundalini class I remember attending was a morning sadhana at Delta Groove Yoga in Memphis circa 2022. I had attended vinyasa classes at Delta Groove for many years and am an early riser so I thought I would give it a try. Morning sadhana occurs at daybreak - the “ambrosial hours” when clarity and connection are most accessible. These weekend public sadhanas contain the elements of typical kundalini classes (tune in, warm up, kriya, meditation, etc.) but they last around 2.5 hours and the practices are longer, particularly the mediations. I didn’t know any of the chants, kriyas (series of movements/poses), or mudras (hand positions). It felt kinda weird. But the newly minted instructor was enthusiastic and helpful. She had printouts with the chants. We went slow. We talked a lot about what we were doing. And there were only a few of us there so it felt intimate and welcoming. And I loved it! So I kept coming and started attending other classes. This was at a time of great change in my life - leaving a 17 year career, menopause. Finding these practices helped me navigate upheaval; balance my hormones; love and connect with my body; and process, metabolize, and eliminate what was no longer serving me. That first day I never would’ve fathomed that I would go through teacher training at Delta Groove Yoga School and become a certified instructor! I feel like that training changed me on a cellular level. It was very challenging physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. It is the hardest thing I’ve ever done but it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done. I have never made such a strong commitment to myself. I did the training and continue this practice because I love it! Kundalini yoga is so much fun! I call it preschool for grown ups. We get to sing songs with our friends - that’s mantra. We get to dance and play, sometimes we roll around on the ground and do funny things with our hands - that’s mudra and movement. Occasionally we even have snack time! But the most important thing is the community and connection we build with ourselves and one another. I have never experienced anything like practicing kundalini yoga. It feels like what I have been searching for. It’s like a big sigh of relief. I don’t know where this path is taking me but I can’t wait to see what is next on this journey

Lyndsay Gray

Lyndsay Gray

Lyndsay Gray is a Certified Crystal Practitioner, graduate of Hibiscus Moon Crystal Academy, and a Reiki Master. Each appointment with me is unique and catered to the individual and their needs. I'll begin by guiding you to find a specific intention for your healing journey and then focuses on that throughout the session. I'll bring my expertise with crystal healing, singing bowls and aromatherapy to amplify relaxation and balance the energetic chakra system to create an overall healing process. Minerals and crystals are a gift from Mother Nature. By using them in day to day life, I have discovered the value and impact they have on both our physical and inner world. Adding crystals to my meditation practice has been a gateway to strengthening my daily routines, instilling calmness, and feeling a deeper sense of relaxation and total well being. During a healing session, I will use specific crystals and minerals to focus on different energy centers and chakras that may be holding on to stagnant energy, causing imbalance and blockage. Using these powerful tools allows energy to flow more freely through these centers in order to ignite healing, creativity, peace, self love, and more! Each session will include an intuitive conversation about the experience and perhaps “ohmwork” or a crystal Rx specifically designed for the area of support you seek. Aside from helping others on their healing path, Lyndsay enjoys music, gardening, hiking, family time and being with her dog, Koda.

Arline Jernigan

Arline Jernigan

My approach to yoga begins with vinyasa and creative flow — a weaving together of movement, breath, and expression. I see yoga as an artistic process, a dance that is both structured and spontaneous, where alignment creates safety and freedom gives rise to creativity. Balance between opposites — discipline and play, stability and flow, grounding and rising — is at the heart of my practice. We move through space sometimes in unique and unexpected ways, always flowing with the breath. Into this, I integrate the wisdom of Kundalini. Its practices bring the fire: awakening energy, sparking transformation, and moving life-force through the body. Vinyasa provides the form and flow; Kundalini adds the intensity and spark. Together, they create a practice that is both dynamic and grounding. Fireflow is my way of blending vinyasa, creative expression, and the spark of Kundalini. At its heart, Fireflow is about balance — discipline and play, alignment and freedom, grounding and rising. I see yoga as both a creative process and a practice of refinement, where posture, breath, and mantra become tools for self-discovery. Vinyasa and creative flow give Fireflow its form — structured yet fluid, like a moving meditation. Kundalini brings the fire — awakening energy, igniting transformation, and moving life-force through the body. Together, they create a practice that is dynamic, grounded, and alive. For me, Fireflow is more than technique. It is a journey that honors both the spiral of energy that awakens within and the symmetry of alignment that sustains it. Each class is both structured and spontaneous, a balance of discipline and artistic expression. The result is a practice that leaves me, and my students, energized centered, open-hearted and steady

Through yoga, meditation, dream work, psychotherapy, philosophy, creative writing, music, and dance, I have spent the last 30 years exploring this uncharted territory of the “unthought”—a much broader, poetic, creative, and joyful understanding of who we are and what we are here to do. My passion is to share the tools and insights I have gathered along my journey and 25 years of teaching experience to help us live more authentic and beautiful lives.

Shelby Luigs

Shelby Luigs

Shelby was introduced to yoga years ago, but became serious about her practice when she began attending classes regularly in 2013. She quickly realized the positive impact that yoga had on her physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. The practice became a place of solace. Shelby completed the 200 hour YTT at Midtown Yoga in 2017. She is most inspired by the ways in which practice on the mat can parallel and influence experience in life, offering lessons in adaptability, flexibility, strength, acceptance, openness, and surrender. Her intention is to continue on this path of self knowledge, to see how her yoga practice can impact her life in the future, and to share this journey with others through the gift of teaching. In her classes, she hopes to offer a practice that encourages opening in the body, focused awareness on the breath, and a meditative pace that allows the practitioner to turn inward and find stillness in the mind.

Eric Swartz

Eric Swartz

In 1978, the year after the release of Stars Wars: A New Hope, Eric had a PE teacher who was so profoundly impacted by the concept of “the Force” he began having his class try meditation. Exploring consciousness became a fascination. In a culture stripped of shamanic tradition, he attempted to expand himself through psychedelics as a young adult. On one particular occasion as he went down a rabbit hole of dark thought loops, a friend took him aside and led him through a set of sun salutations. The profound effect of aligning breath movement and mental focus never left him. This experience became foundational when he entered his personal recovery journey from drugs and alcohol. The discipline of Yoga reshaped his life profoundly. In 2018 He received his RYT-200 in Kundalini Yoga from Delta Groove Yoga. In 2021 He received a second RYT-200 in Hatha Yoga from The Yoga Maya School in Ann Arbor MI. Eric also has a Reiki level 3 attunement and has completed the 12 hour Prison Yoga Project training "Introduction to Yoga and Mindfulness in Prisons and Jails." Eric's classes focus on Yoga as a full system for physical, mental and spiritual development. They are non-competitive, focusing on building strength and flexibility. Not only in the body but the spirit. He strives to be accessible for any student no matter their ability. You can expect skillfully guided Asana, pranayama and meditation. Occasionally he hosts Yoga Nidra and Sound Bath events and Reiki shares often in collaboration with friends and special guests..
