About
For Valentine, it all started with philosophy. Wonder first, and then in its wake all the questions. She wrote her Ph.D dissertation to go as deep as she could. Soon she came up against the pitfall of classical thought, which is to say, the body — the living, desiring, blissful, sweating, sick, healing, moving body. This is how yoga and meditation came about: an obvious answer to the most fundamental question, What is a Good Life? Yoga teaches us to refine our sensory system to become more aware, and to strengthen our nervous system to become more awake—so we can take life head on, stop being a stowaway in our own body, activate our talents and creativity, marvel at big and small things, know we are connected with all that is, nurture this vital impulse which propels evolution, and which gives us the means to support the tremendous paradigm shift currently underway, towards a fairer, more harmonious and more beautiful world.
Valentine went on to train in the US and Europe with masters faithful to the oldest traditions but freed from all dogma (Ravi Singh, Kirantana Kaur Khalsa, Thich Nhat Hahn). Thanks to their transmission, her passion, her commitment, and 20+ years of teaching experience (philosophy, yoga, creative writing) from the university level to kindergarten, she has been offering classes, workshops, trainings and international retreats in France, Mexico, and Costa-Rica since 2012. Valentine is the author of two books, a philosophy textbook on creativity and memory in thought, and Even the Breath, a novel in which Kundalini Yoga saves the world. Facilitating a group dynamic which reassures and inspires, connects and liberates, has become her specialty.
